Digital technologies are in everywhere. It is a very strong technical and it is a main part of our life now. The use of visual hierarchy and grid are in the traditions qualities and potential constraints inherent in letterpress.
From
the two examples below of FUTURE magazines, left one is early released, that is
quite simple to use visual
hierarchy and grid. In today’s eyes, it looks like a cartoon style. And the
colour theme was not matched very well.
The
example on the right side, it looks more powerful, I can see the visual
hierarchy was used good. The colour was matched. And this one has used
different fonts, it is interesting in reading. I can easily to understand all
of the parts.
Over all, the modern digital technology has more
freedom of creative. The use of visual hierarchy and grids has done a good job
from that of the letterpress.
